One PDF does both jobs. Printed, it is letter size and comes straight out of a home or office printer at 100 percent scaling, with the pick boxes as empty squares to tick. Opened in a PDF reader, the same boxes become clickable: tap a team to pick it, tap the other team to switch, type your name and tiebreaker number, then save and send the file to your pool host.

  • Print one copy per player and write the player name at the top
  • Black and white printing keeps ink cost low for a big office pool
  • Collect every sheet before 8:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday so nobody picks late

Running the pool every week? The Week 2 Pick’em Sheet is ready as soon as this one is scored.

How to Run a Week 1 Pick’em Pool

Most pools take five minutes to set up. Agree on the format, the deadline and the tiebreaker, and write all three at the top of the master copy so there is no argument on Monday night.

FORMATHOW IT SCORESBEST FOR
Straight up1 point per correct winner, 16 points possibleFirst timers and mixed skill groups
Confidence pointsRank all 16 games from 16 down to 1 and bank the value of each correct pickSeason long office pools
SurvivorPick one winner a week, a loss ends your run, no team twiceLarge groups that want a long chase
KnockoutLowest weekly score is eliminated until one player is leftSmall offices of 8 to 15 players

For the tiebreaker, every player writes the total combined points in Broncos at Chiefs on Monday night. Closest number wins, or closest without going over if your pool prefers it.

Because the opener is on a Wednesday this season, set the collection deadline for Wednesday afternoon instead of the usual Thursday. Survivor and knockout pools run for months, so keep the full 2026 NFL schedule printable next to your master copy and mark which teams each player has used.

Week 1 Games That Decide Most Pools

Openers are noisy. Rosters are new, there is no film on the season yet, and favorites do not hold up the way they do in November. These four games usually split a pool.

  • Patriots at Seahawks, Wednesday 8:20 p.m. A Super Bowl LX rematch. Seattle won 29 to 13 in February, has beaten New England four straight times, and opens as a 3.5 point favorite at Lumen Field. It is also the first Wednesday game in Patriots history, and rookie back TreVeyon Henderson is out. This game locks before most players have printed a sheet.
  • 49ers at Rams, Thursday 8:35 p.m. The first NFL regular season game in Australia, played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday morning local time. Long travel and a neutral crowd flatten the usual home edge, so treat this NFC West game as a coin flip, not a lock.
  • Bills at Texans, Sunday 1:00 p.m. Both teams went 12 and 5 last season and both won a road playoff game. It is Joe Brady’s first game as Buffalo head coach, and Josh Allen is 1 and 4 in Houston, where the Texans sacked him eight times last year.
  • Broncos at Chiefs, Monday 8:15 p.m. Andy Reid confirmed on September 8 that Patrick Mahomes will start, barring a setback, in his first game since December surgery on torn knee ligaments. He practiced fully in camp but played no preseason snaps. Denver was the AFC top seed at 14 and 3 and led the league with 68 sacks. Kansas City is a 2.5 point favorite. This is the tiebreaker game in most pools, so it carries double weight.

In straight up pools, chasing upsets costs more than it pays in Week 1. In confidence pools, put your low numbers on the four games above and save the high numbers for the clearest mismatches.

NFL Week 1 Pick’em Sheet 2026 FAQ

How many games are on the NFL Week 1 Pick’em Sheet 2026?

Sixteen. All 32 teams play in Week 1 because bye weeks do not start until Week 5. The slate is one Wednesday game, one Thursday game in Melbourne, 13 games on Sunday and one on Monday night.

When do Week 1 picks lock?

Most pools lock at the first kickoff, which is Wednesday, September 9 at 8:20 p.m. ET for Patriots at Seahawks. That is a day earlier than a normal week, so collect sheets on Wednesday afternoon. Pools that lock game by game can take Sunday picks later.

Is the NFL Week 1 Pick’em Sheet free?

Yes. The printable and fillable PDF is free. There is no signup, no email and no account. Print as many copies as your pool needs.

Can I fill in the pick’em sheet on my phone?

Yes. Open the same PDF in any standard PDF reader on a phone, tablet or laptop. Tap a team to pick it, tap the other team to switch, type your name and tiebreaker number, then save the file and send it to whoever runs the pool. There is no separate fillable version to download.

How do you break a tie in a pick’em pool?

The standard tiebreaker is total combined points in the last game of the week, which is Broncos at Chiefs on Monday, September 14. Each player writes one number and the closest guess wins. Some pools use closest without going over instead.

What is the difference between straight up and confidence scoring?

Straight up gives one point for every correct winner, so 16 is a perfect week. Confidence scoring asks you to rank all 16 games from 16 down to 1 and you bank the ranked value of each correct pick. Confidence rewards judgment about which games are safe.

Is Patrick Mahomes playing in Week 1?

Yes, barring a setback. Andy Reid confirmed on September 8, 2026 that Mahomes will start against the Broncos on Monday night. It is his first game since December surgery on torn knee ligaments, and he played no preseason snaps.

What is on the NFL Week 1 Pick’em Sheet 2026?

All 16 Week 1 games in kickoff order with the date, away team, home team, time in ET and TV channel, a pick box beside each team, a result column for scoring, and boxes for the player name, total correct and the tiebreaker number. Everything fits on one letter size page.

The NFL Week 1 Pick’em Sheet 2026 turns a scattered opening slate into one page you can hand around the room or send as a fillable file. Print one copy per player, collect them before 8:20 p.m. ET on September 9, and make everyone write a tiebreaker number. Week 1 pools nearly always end with two or three players on the same score, and the Monday night total is what separates them.

Every matchup, kickoff time and TV channel on this sheet is checked against the official NFL Week 1 schedule.
