How to Run a Week 3 Pick’em Pool

Both squads fly roughly 5,000 miles, nobody sleeps in their own bed, and a neutral crowd flattens the edge the schedule suggests.
- Bengals at Steelers, Sunday 1:00 p.m. An AFC North road game in Pittsburgh. Division games early in the season are the classic pool trap, because the records say one thing and the rivalry says another.
- Eagles at Bears, Monday 8:15 p.m. The last game of the week, so it is the tiebreaker in most pools and carries double weight. Get the winner wrong and the points number can still save you.
- Falcons at Packers, Thursday 8:15 p.m. A short week for both sides and the game that locks your whole sheet. Thursday games see more upsets than the rest of the slate because preparation time is cut in half.
One practical tip. Nine games kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET, so most of your sheet is settled inside one three hour block. If you are running confidence points, spread your high numbers across that window rather than stacking them, or a single bad hour wipes out your week.
