The 2026 San Francisco 49ers Schedule is the most travelled slate in the NFL, and it starts on the other side of the world. San Francisco opens against the Los Angeles Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday, September 10, then hosts the Minnesota Vikings in Mexico City in Week 11.
The Niners arrive off a 12 and 5 season that ended 41 to 6 at Seattle in the divisional round. Kyle Shanahan is in his tenth year as head coach, Raheem Morris takes over the defence, and Mike Evans now lines up for Brock Purdy.
Every game below carries the date, kickoff time in Eastern Time and the TV channel, plus the Week 8 bye, five primetime slots and a free printable PDF you can pin to the fridge.

2026 49ers Preseason Schedule
All three preseason games fall on a Thursday, which is unusual and worth noting before you plan around them. Only the first is at Levi’s Stadium.
| WEEK | DATE | OPPONENT | TIME (ET) | TV CHANNEL |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Thu, Aug 13 | vs Tennessee Titans | 9:00 PM | KPIX 5 |

| 3 | Thu, Aug 27 | @ Las Vegas Raiders | 8:00 PM | KPIX 5 |
KPIX 5 is the Bay Area outlet for all three, and the games also stream on 49ers.com and the 49ers app inside the local market. Nationally, NFL Network carries the first two, while the trip to Las Vegas streams on the ESPN app out of market, which needs an ESPN subscription.
Joint practices come first: Tennessee visits Santa Clara on August 11, and the 49ers work with the Chargers in El Segundo on August 18.

That is nine designated home games and eight road games. Only eight of the nine are actually at Levi’s Stadium, because the Week 11 meeting with Minnesota is a 49ers home game played in Mexico City. The network split is FOX 8, CBS 3, NBC 2, ESPN and ABC 1, Prime Video 1, Netflix 1, with Week 18 still to be set.
Kickoff times are Eastern. Subtract three hours for Pacific, so a 4:25 PM ET game is a 1:25 PM start in Santa Clara. CBS Sports ranks the slate 18th toughest in the league, with 49ers opponents at a combined .497 win rate in 2025.
Key Matchups, Bye Week and Primetime Games
Week 1 in Melbourne, an NFL first
San Francisco and the Los Angeles Rams play the first NFL regular season game ever staged in Australia, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday, September 10 at 8:35 PM ET. That is 10:35 AM on Friday morning in Melbourne. Netflix has the national rights, but every Netflix NFL game is also carried on free over the air television in the two participating teams’ home markets, so Bay Area viewers can watch it with an antenna.
The Rams are the designated home team, so the game counts as a 49ers road trip. It is also not the league opener: the 2026 season begins the night before, on Wednesday, September 9.
Week 11 in Mexico City is a 49ers home game
The 49ers host the Minnesota Vikings at Estadio Banorte on Sunday, November 22 at 8:20 PM ET on NBC. San Francisco was named the designated home team, which is why Levi’s Stadium gets eight regular season dates rather than nine. Some listings show it as a Vikings home game. They are wrong.
It doubles as a reunion. Wide receiver Jauan Jennings signed with Minnesota in free agency after six seasons in San Francisco.
Five primetime games as currently assigned
Two Thursday nights, two Sunday nights and one Monday night. The Washington Commanders visit on Monday, October 19 in the only ESPN and ABC simulcast, the Mexico City game is Sunday Night Football, the trip to the Chargers on Thursday, December 17 is on Prime Video, and the Philadelphia Eagles close the Levi’s Stadium season on Sunday night, January 3. Week 18 could add a sixth once the league sets that window.
Week 8 bye, then ten straight game weeks
The bye lands on the weekend of November 1, right in the middle of the season and immediately after the trip to Atlanta. Useful timing given the Australia trip in Week 1, but it means seven games to open and then ten in a row from Week 9 to Week 18 with no break, including the flight to Mexico City.
The NFC West race and the Seattle problem
Six division games, four of them on FOX. The Seattle Seahawks arrive as reigning Super Bowl champions and as the team that ended the 49ers season 41 to 6. San Francisco visits Seattle in Week 5 and hosts the rematch in Week 12. The season then finishes in the desert against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18, the classic slot for a game that decides a playoff seed.
The toughest tests outside the division
Back to back trips to the Dallas Cowboys and then Mexico City in Weeks 10 and 11, a four day turnaround into the Thursday night game at the Chargers on December 17, then ten days off before a December 27 visit to the Kansas City Chiefs , and the Eagles in Week 17 in a rematch of the wild card round the 49ers won 23 to 19.
The AFC West rotation also brings the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders to Levi’s Stadium, plus the Miami Dolphins in the home opener and a trip to the New York Giants in Week 13.
What changed this offseason
Robert Saleh left to become head coach in Tennessee, so Raheem Morris is the new defensive coordinator. That is the only coordinator change. Klay Kubiak is in his second season as offensive coordinator and Brant Boyer his second running special teams, and Shanahan still calls the offensive plays. Shanahan was injured in a car accident on July 14, breaking three ribs, his nose and a hand and taking a concussion.
He remains in concussion protocol, assistant head coach Chris Foerster is running camp, and general manager John Lynch expects him cleared well before Week 1.
On the roster, Mike Evans arrived from Tampa Bay on a three year deal with a base value of $42.5 million that can reach $60.4 million with incentives, Dre Greenlaw returned from Denver, Christian Kirk came in from Houston, Nate Hobbs signed from Green Bay and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa was acquired by trade from Dallas.
San Francisco traded out of the first round of the 2026 draft and made eight picks, starting with Ole Miss receiver De’Zhaun Stribling at No. 33. Christian McCaffrey is the reigning AP Comeback Player of the Year and a first team All Pro.
How to Watch the San Francisco 49ers Schedule on TV and Streaming
Fourteen of the 17 games are on free broadcast television nationally, and Bay Area viewers can reach 16 of 17 with an antenna. Here is what each option actually gives a 49ers fan in 2026.
| PLATFORM | WHAT IT GIVES A 49ERS FAN |
|---|---|
| FOX | Eight games, the most of any network, including four of the six NFC West meetings. Free with an antenna in the Bay Area. |
| CBS | Three games: Denver in Week 4, Las Vegas in Week 9 and Kansas City in Week 16. KPIX 5 is the local outlet. |
| NBC and Peacock | Two Sunday night games, Mexico City in Week 11 and Philadelphia in Week 17. Free on NBC with an antenna, or streamed on Peacock. |
| ESPN and ABC | Monday Night Football against Washington in Week 6, simulcast on ABC, so it is free with an antenna. |
| Prime Video | Thursday Night Football at the Chargers on December 17. Also carried on free local TV in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, as league rules require. |
| Netflix | The Melbourne opener on September 10. Netflix has it nationally, but every Netflix NFL game is also simulcast free over the air in the two teams’ home markets, so it is on an antenna in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. |
| NFL+ | Live local and primetime 49ers games on phone and tablet only, plus every game on replay. $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year, Premium $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year. It cannot be cast to a TV. |
| NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV | Only useful outside the Bay Area. It carries out of market Sunday afternoon games, priced at $240 a season for new YouTube TV members and $378 for returning members. |
| YouTube TV | After the 2026 genre based repackaging, the $82.99 flagship plan and the $64.99 Sports plan both carry FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, ESPN and NFL Network. The $54.99 Entertainment plan does not, so pick one of the first two. |
| Hulu + Live TV | $89.99 a month with ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and ESPN, so every 49ers game except the Netflix opener. |
| Fubo | Carries ESPN on every English language plan in 2026, and NBC returned to Fubo on June 10, so the full national slate is covered. The Spanish language Latino plan is the exception and carries neither. |
| NFL RedZone | Every scoring play across Sunday afternoons. There is no flat season price in 2026. It is included with NFL+ Premium, or sold as a $10.99 a month Sports Plus add on for YouTube TV subscribers. |
An antenna is still the cheapest route. Fourteen games are on FOX, CBS, NBC or ABC nationally. Both streaming exclusives are also simulcast on free television in the participating teams’ home markets, so the Week 1 Netflix game from Melbourne and the Week 15 Prime Video game at the Chargers are both available with an antenna in the Bay Area. That is 16 of 17 free for local fans, with only Week 18 still unassigned.
On radio, KNBR 680 and KSAN 107.7 The Bone anchor the 49ers Radio Network, with Greg Papa on play by play and Tim Ryan on analysis. Spanish language coverage runs through Jesus Zarate on radio and Telemundo 48 on television.
Flexible scheduling can still move things. Sunday afternoon games can be flexed into Sunday night up to twice in Weeks 5 to 10 and in any week from Week 11 to Week 17. Monday night flex applies from Week 12 with 12 days warning, and Thursday night games can be flexed up to twice between Weeks 13 and 17 with about 21 days notice, which means the Week 15 trip to the Chargers is not locked. The entire Week 18 slate is set only after Week 17 finishes.
Tickets, Training Camp and Levi’s Stadium
Single game tickets are sold through 49ers.com and the 49ers app, with Ticketmaster as the official ticketing partner and the Levi’s Stadium Account Manager handling seat licence holders. Official resale runs through NFL Ticket Exchange on Ticketmaster.
Vivid Seats is also a club partner, handling VIP and fan experience packages. StubHub and SeatGeek are third party secondary markets with no club affiliation, which matters if a listing goes wrong. Tickets for the Melbourne and Mexico City games are sold separately through On Location rather than the standard single game inventory.
Training camp is at the SAP Performance Facility next to Levi’s Stadium. Rookies reported on July 18 and veterans on July 25, with 11 open practices running through August 16, most from about 10:15 AM to 12:15 PM Pacific. Entry is $10 for members and $20 for everyone else, and parking in Red Lot 1 is free with a shuttle.
Levi’s Stadium has had a busy year. It hosted Super Bowl LX on February 8, won 29 to 13 by Seattle over New England, then staged six FIFA World Cup matches between June 13 and July 1. Roughly $200 million of upgrades landed in time for both events, including much larger video boards and new field lighting.
Two ceremonies are already on the calendar: Roger Craig will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 8 and is honoured at halftime of the Denver game on October 4, and Keena Turner joins the 49ers Hall of Fame during Alumni Weekend against Washington on October 19.

Melbourne and Mexico City. The Week 1 game against the Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground is the first NFL regular season game ever played in Australia, and the Rams are the designated home team. In Week 11 the 49ers are the designated home team against the Minnesota Vikings at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City on Sunday, November 22.
When is the 49ers bye week in 2026?
Week 8, the weekend of November 1. The 49ers play seven straight weeks to open the season, take the bye, then play ten consecutive weeks from Week 9 through Week 18.
How many home games do the 49ers play at Levi’s Stadium in 2026?
Eight regular season games, plus one preseason game on August 13. The 49ers have nine designated home games, but the Week 11 meeting with Minnesota is played in Mexico City, so it does not add a date at Levi’s Stadium.
How many primetime games are on the 2026 49ers schedule?
Five as currently assigned: Thursday in Melbourne on Netflix in Week 1, Monday Night Football against Washington on ESPN and ABC in Week 6, Sunday Night Football against Minnesota in Mexico City in Week 11, Thursday Night Football at the Chargers on Prime Video in Week 15, and Sunday Night Football against Philadelphia in Week 17. Week 18 has not been scheduled yet and could add a sixth.
Who is the 49ers head coach in 2026?
Kyle Shanahan, in his tenth season. He still calls the offensive plays, with Klay Kubiak in his second year as offensive coordinator. Shanahan was hurt in a car accident on July 14 and remains in concussion protocol, so assistant head coach Chris Foerster has led the team through the early part of camp. General manager John Lynch expects him cleared well before Week 1. Raheem Morris is the new defensive coordinator after Robert Saleh left for the Tennessee head coaching job.
Who is the 49ers quarterback in 2026?
Brock Purdy, signed through 2030 on a five year extension worth $265 million. He started nine games in an injury hit 2025 season. Mac Jones, who started the other eight games, returns as the backup on a revised deal.
How did the 49ers finish the 2025 season?
They went 12 and 5, finished second in the NFC West behind Seattle and made the playoffs as a wild card. San Francisco beat the Philadelphia Eagles 23 to 19 in the wild card round, then lost 41 to 6 at Seattle in the divisional round. The Seahawks went on to win Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium.
What TV channels show 49ers games in 2026?
FOX has eight games, CBS has three, NBC has two Sunday night games, ESPN and ABC share one Monday night game, Prime Video has one Thursday night game and Netflix has the Melbourne opener. Week 18 is still to be assigned. KPIX 5 carries all three preseason games in the Bay Area.
How can I watch the 49ers without cable?
An antenna gets you 14 games on FOX, CBS, NBC and ABC. Live TV streaming services such as Hulu + Live TV at $89.99 a month, YouTube TV and Fubo carry the same networks plus ESPN. Netflix carries the Week 1 game from Melbourne nationally, though it is also on free local television in the Bay Area, and Peacock streams the two Sunday night games. NFL+ at $6.99 a month shows live local and primetime games on phone and tablet only.
Can I watch 49ers games for free?
Yes, most of them. Fourteen games are on free broadcast networks nationally. Both streaming exclusives, the Week 1 Netflix game from Melbourne and the Week 15 Prime Video game at the Chargers, are also simulcast on free local television in the participating teams’ home markets, which makes 16 of 17 available with an antenna in the Bay Area. Only Week 18 is still unassigned.
Why is Week 18 on the 49ers schedule still TBD?
The NFL sets all 16 Week 18 games only after Week 17 finishes, so playoff races can be given the best windows. The 49ers play at Arizona, and the game will land on either Saturday, January 9 or Sunday, January 10, 2027, with the kickoff time and network announced in early January.
The 2026 San Francisco 49ers Schedule asks more of a fan than most: a Friday morning kickoff in Melbourne, a home game in Mexico City, five primetime nights and only eight dates at Levi’s Stadium.
Print the sheet, mark the Week 8 bye, and note that Week 18 in Arizona will not be locked in until the first week of January.
