2026 Commanders Preseason Schedule

Washington hosts Miami in the preseason opener, travels to Detroit for a Saturday afternoon game, then closes at Baltimore. The first two games air locally on WUSA9 in the Washington market, and the Ravens finale goes out nationally on NFL Network.

Joint practices are set for August 12 against the Dolphins at the team’s Ashburn facility and August 26 against the Ravens in Owings Mills. Those two sessions are where the starters get most of their real work, since most teams sit front line players in the preseason finale.

Here is the complete week by week regular season slate with kickoff times in Eastern Time. The final three weeks carry TBD labels because the league sets those windows later in the year, and flexible scheduling can still move Sunday night, Monday night and Thursday night games down the stretch.

Key Matchups, Bye Week and the London Game

Washington opens with two NFC East road trips in a row, at Philadelphia in Week 1 and at Dallas in Week 2, both in the late Sunday afternoon window on FOX. That is the first time the club has started with back to back road games since 2012. Week 3 then brings Seattle to Landover just seven months after the Seahawks beat New England 29 to 13 in Super Bowl LX, and Washington has not beaten Seattle since 2021.

The Week 4 international game is the biggest wrinkle on the calendar. Washington is the designated home team against the Indianapolis Colts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, October 4 at 9:30 AM ET, which means only eight of the nine home games are actually played at Northwest Stadium.

A Week 7 bye follows the Monday night trip to San Francisco, giving the roster a long reset before the November stretch.

WEEKMATCHUPWHY IT MATTERS
3vs SeahawksHome date with the reigning Super Bowl champions
4vs Colts (London)Washington hosts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
8vs Eagles (SNF)Both Philadelphia games are done by Week 8
11vs Bengals (MNF)Only AFC North opponent on the regular season slate
18vs CowboysSeason finale that can decide NFC East seeding

Five games are nationally televised and four of those fall in primetime: Monday Night Football at the 49ers in Week 6, Sunday Night Football against Philadelphia in Week 8, Thursday Night Football at the Giants in Week 10, and a Monday night home game with Cincinnati in Week 11

The London morning kickoff is the fifth. Washington begins the year on a four game winning streak against the Giants, tied for the third longest run it has ever put together against that opponent. The year ends with a home rematch against the Cowboys, a Week 18 finale that often shapes playoff seeding in the NFC East.

Difficulty sits right in the middle of the league. The NFL ranks Washington 16th in strength of schedule, up slightly from 14th in 2025, and seven games come against 2025 playoff teams: Seattle, Philadelphia twice, the Rams, Houston, San Francisco and Jacksonville. Four of those are at Northwest Stadium.

The division race is front loaded, with five of the six NFC East games finished by Week 10. Travel is also easier this year, 16th in the league at 18,491 air miles against 21,363 in 2025, and only the London trip plus the road games in San Francisco and Arizona take the team outside the Eastern and Central time zones.

How to Watch the 2026 Washington Commanders Schedule on TV and Streaming

Most Commanders games air on free broadcast television. FOX carries the NFC Sunday afternoon games that make up the bulk of the slate, CBS has the two AFC matchups against Tennessee and Houston, NBC has Sunday Night Football, and ESPN with ABC handles Monday Night Football.

NFL Network has the London kickoff and the preseason finale, and it is now part of the ESPN family after ESPN closed its deal for NFL Media at the end of January 2026.

Peacock and Paramount+ also run free trial windows you can time around a marquee matchup.

One slot to watch: the league has not assigned the Week 18 Saturday game yet, and that window belongs to Netflix, so the finale against Dallas could end up streaming there.
